Born in New York City, Emmanuel “Mac” Raboy, was best know for his work on Captain Marvel Jr. and the Flash Gordon Sunday comic strip.
Captain Marvel Jr. first issue debuted on newsstands on October 16th, 1942, which featured gorgeous cover by Mac Raboy. Though he was famous for his work on Captain Marvel Jr., he did not stay very long. In 1944, he left Fawcett to join Spark Publications, where he illustrated the Green Lama for two years.
In the spring of 1948, he was hired on by King features to illustrate the Flash Gordon Sunday page, where he illustrated the strip until his death.
